It's been a VERY long time, no post. I do miss everyone, though, and I plan to keep this journal going for fanfic purposes at the very least. I thought I'd write in a explain what's been going on in my fandom life, just in case anyone was curious. Here are the highlights...

The other day I asked osprey_archer  if she would be interested in a summer reread of our favorite children and teen literature. Thank goodness she is AWESOME, and said yes!

We want to reread and discuss our favorite kid's book and  to read kid lit we somehow missed as kids. We'll both post review on LJ so we can compare observations and reminisce together.

Merlin fic will be posted on Tuesday, as today and tomorrow have been/will be long, exhausting, and really really awesome. But there will be fic soon, promise!

Which begs the question, fellow fic writers (of any fandom) -- how do you realign with the characters? Do you ever feel like you need to take a step back and remember who you're writing about? Do you go back to cannon, to other fic, fanmixes--what inspires you?

Once upon a time, someone somewhere decided to create a cute little website called Craftster (I could be more specific with this info, but that would require research...and that's not the point of this story!) Better yet, they started these things called craft swaps, where people can send and receive crafts themed around, say, Joss Whedon.
